About Tung Hing Chinese restaurant

Chinese take out

Located at 1810 Stefko Blvd, Bethlehem, PA 18017, Tung Hing Chinese restaurant operates as a chinese restaurant serving Bethlehem in Pennsylvania. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Bethlehem; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Pennsylvania are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 am–9 pm. It is closed on Tuesday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Tung Hing Chinese restaurant at (610) 868-2822; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

Its Google rating is 4.1 out of 5 from 59 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

Bethlehem is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Bethlehem is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I ordered the General Tso’s chicken meal, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The chicken had an unpleasant taste, almost as if it had been sitting out for too long or had been frozen for an extended period. The container was also overloaded with sauce, which made the meal even less enjoyable. The pork in the fried rice looked questionable, which made me hesitant to eat much of it. Surprisingly, the egg roll, despite clearly being a standard oven-baked frozen egg roll, ended up being the best part of the meal. The only item I genuinely enjoyed was the iced tea. Overall, the quality of the food did not meet my expectations, and I don’t plan on ordering from Tung Hing in Bethlehem again. Ngl though pricing wasn’t to bad!

For many years, Hubby and I were regulars at Tung Hing. My go-to was always Happy Family and a Roast Pork Egg Roll. Hubby would get Happy Family, usually with Egg Drop Soup, or sometimes an egg roll. The taste was always consistently great. Then, at some point, perhaps maybe in September, he got his usual. I didn’t have any, as I wasn’t hungry that day. He said it didn’t taste the same. I couldn’t comment, since I didn’t eat. We tried a couple more times and yes, it did not taste like it had for years prior. Haven’t been back since 11/8/25, except once, to speak with an employee. I asked if they were doing something different or if they had a new chef. She was very nice, and indicated same chef, same recipe, nothing has changed. We’ve tried several other take out Chinese restaurants since then. They’re okay, but just not the same as our favorite Tung Hing β€œHappy Family”. I miss the flavor and I’m willing to try Tung Hing again, hoping they change back, but hubby says he’s done with them. 😞

Fantastic food. They make it quick but good, they are always in a pleasant mood and just enjoyable people. Very reasonable prices and portions. Been coming here for well over a decade.

Fast service, fair price, food taste great and you really get a lot of food for what you pay. Easy parking and easy / out of the parking area. No communications problem. She understood everything I said and I clearly understood her Barry

Tung Hing is a take-out only Chinese restaurant located in the Stefko Blvd. Shopping Center. The menu, prices, and food quality are comparable to every other average Chinese take-out spot. I’ve been to Tung Hing several times since I moved to Bethlehem, and was never disappointed. The food is decent, and it’s always ready within ten minutes.
